Flight of the Pheonix

Just watched the movie "Flight of the Phoenix" in Star Movie channel. This movie is about a group of air crash survivors who stranded in the Gobi Dessert with low chances of survival. Facing this brutal environment, they realize thei need to do something impossible in order to get them out of the dessert.

This movie, to me, is nice to watch. Besides the movie effects are great, such as dessert storm and the crashing of the air plane, the story line is good. I find that some of the dialogue in this movie are very meaningful.

For example, Liddle (by Scott Michael Campbell) asked Captain Towns (by Dennis Quiad), what does a man need to have to be alive? Liddle said that man need someone to be loved, if not, he must have the hope to be alive. If none of them, just give them work to do. To me it is true, love and hope are the main inspiration for us in live.

Another meaningful dialouge is when Sammi (by Jacob Vargas) asked Rady ( by Kevork Malikyan) were you religious? Rady said he was not, but he believed in spiritual. He said that religion separate people.

The funny part of the movie is the smugglers in the dessert. Since the story take place in Gobi dessert, why the smugglers can speak Cantonese (Southern China dialect).

The story also reflects the nature behaviour of human being in the real world when we compete to each other to survive. In the real word, sometime we force to team work with someone who is ego, isolated and bad altitude due to the expertise of the person he has.

There were less than ten persons who stranded in the dessert, but it showed variety of characters in that group. Hence it is no doubt they are more characters in the working area. Human relationship is so complex and tricky due to this diversity.
