The evolution of Women Gymnastics - (70s - 80s)



Olga Korbut, a sweat little gymnast, who capture all the audience in the world during the 1972 Munich Olympics. This Russian girl have make many little girls start to practice in gymnastics. During the 70s, the bars distance is quite near to each others.



Nadia Comaneci,Romania, a little girl who stunned the world with a new record of perfect 10 in the Olympics history. She presented high difficulty in the apparatus and hence the world of women gymnastics start to shift into a sport with more competitor start to compete at younger age.



Ma Yan Hong, China, is the first women in China who won the gold in the 1979 world championship. She also won gold in 84 Olympics, tied with Julianne Mcnamara.



Daniela Silivas, Romania, a great gymnast in women history. She scored perfect in this uneven bars in 88 Olympics. She win gold in this event. In addition, she also won 2 more golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze. In short, she took all the medals in the 6 events of women gymnastics. Notice that the distance between bars become further and the style of the gymnast start to have giant swing, pirouette and release move in between the bars.
